5th March More news!

Myself and Gren have also been booked for Southwell festival and the Hexham Gathering, as well as a host of new folk club and put bookings. We continue to have great fun touring about, having performed two of our best ever gigs in the last weekend, at The Second Time Around folk club, Beeston, and Walthamstow Folk club.

Watch out for Manchester Ceilidh next week! I'm delighted to be making my first appearance at this prestigious dance venue, with Edwin Beasant and Liam Robinson as the 'Cutback Ceilidh Band'.

29th February Sidmouth I'm really absolutely ecstatic to announce that myself and Gren have been booked to appear at Sidmouth Folk week this summer! This is a real break for us and a wonderful festival to be at.
11th February Mini Tour Gren and I have just got back from our four day mini tour, which was a most enjoyable success! We started at Beltane on Thursday with a great night. Thanks to all my friends who came along to heckle! Friday saw us at Guildford folk club where we had a truly excellent time and plenty of banter. Saturday was our first visit to the Pig and Whistle in Melksham, where we entertained the Saturday night regulars with great success, before a Sunday night trip to Twickenham folk club for yet more music and a superb stone baked pizza to finish the night off. Time for a day's sleep!
1st January New year and Poynton

Thanks to everyone who was at the Sportsman in Hayfield for the new year's eve alpine party last night! That was a great gig and we look forward to going back soon, although we'll be finding bits of fake snow in our gear for months...

In other news, Albireo have taken over the running of the Poynton Ceilidh. We're booking bands for a spring season of 5 concerts as a trial. Should that go well, we'll run the autumn season and beyond. There's now a dedicated Poynton Ceilidhs page which is basic at the minute, but will grow and flower very soon! Please support this great local dancing night!

12th December news A big thankyou to The Bell in Bath for having us on Sunday. We had a great time and hats off to the pub management for putting on such a excellent programme of music. It was really nice to be part of it! Next time I go, I'll try the good looking beers too..
7th December News... Just to say that after this weekend, Gren and I are taking a short break till the end of January. We should have a lot of new material by then, assuming I survive my winter holiday to Mongolia. Catch us at either the Happy Return in Nottingham tonight or the Bell in Bath on Sunday lunchtime or hang on till the new year!
3rd September News! Towersey festival was great! It really was! In other news, my new cd with Gren Bartley will be featured on radio 3's Late Junction this Tuesday night! That's pretty exciting.
3rd August Record!

Sorry for the lack of news recently! I've been exceptionally busy, which is great! Brampton and Warwick festivals were two particular highlights. We had our official record launch at Brampton, which was wonderfully well attended and a huge success. Rushes is finally out, and details are available from the Recordings page. Rush out and buy your copy immediately!

There's also a nice review from Steve Henderson here.

14th June News

Added 4 more gigs, including three folk clubs and a return to the ever popular venue, 'The George' in Buxton in September.

Tomorrow is the grand charity ceilidh at Conkers with 'The Fox Hat' . However, it is with great sadness that I've announced that I'm to leave the band after 4 years with them. There's so much work coming through with Gren that the time was right to really push that. I'll still be doing the occasional gig with them as a guest fiddler, but my last day as their regular player will be September 1st.

1st June News

The album release has been moved back a few weeks as we wanted to add an extra track! It should still be out in time for the July festivals though.

Gren and myself had a fantastic gig at Ilkeston Folk Club on Wednesday night! It's a really well attended venue and strongly recommended.

17th April Gigs The Eagle eyed among you will have noticed that the July gig at Beltane with Gren has moved two weeks back into June. We've also added a gig in the Musician in Leicester. A fine venue that I've wanted to play at for quite a while.
1st April CD The recording is now completed, and we're listening to the first mix to decide a track order. At some point when we're finally happy with the recording, we'll get a couple of tracks online as a preview! In the meantime, feel free to catch myself and Gren next Saturday afternoon at the Criterion in Leicester (3pm). It's a superb real ale pub with a great commitment to live music and deserves support!
12th March CD Final rehearsals for the cd are going well. We're heading up to Cumbria on Wednesday to start recording our first record with Fellside! Watch this space for news of how it goes. And why not check our Myspace? Feel free to add us!
22nd February Pack Horse Folk Club I'll be playing the excellent Pack Horse Folk Club with Gren tomorrow night. This is our first time there as a duo, although we've both played there before in various formats. If you're in the area, make sure you come along! After this I'm off to Romania for a week. I'll see what music I can find.
4th February Update... At short notice, (24hrs!) Gren and I found ourselves playing in Corsham for Folk at the Oak last Thursday. We had a fantastic time in a super folk club, and our thanks go out to Graham and Sandy for hosting us so well. Other than that, preparations for the recording are going well, with lots of new material finding its way into our sets over the weekend. We had a couple of other most enjoyable gigs at the Happy Return in Nottingham and Project X in Buxton, and the warm responses made the miles travelled well worth it!
